Oh dear. Five chapters in and I still don't know when a potentially exempt transfer can receive taper relief and when it can't. Clearly the author knows his subject. I only wish he knew how to convey it to the rest of us. His paragraphs are full of vague generalities "make sure you select a good financial advisor". But when it comes to explaining the Inheritance Tax rules and (even more important) how to minimise Inheritance Tax I am no clearer than before I started to read. And I'm a qualified accountant. God help the layman
